I finished your novel last night …It passed my seemingly informal, but largely accurate "sleepy" test. I never once got sleepy reading it. This is no false compliment by any means. I've read many books by some of our best authors that don't pass the sleepy test. For me that means you succeeded well in arguably the most important area: you held my interest all the way.

Your writing style worked for me. At times you had short sentences that were almost like punctuation itself and at times more complex ones. And I'm not really trying to make a point about sentence structure as much as saying you wrote the sentences that fit your story needs. Structure and style contributed to the story.

I quite enjoyed the wisdom you put into Angel Tears. I could sense your good intentions and the larger idea that you hold that the world presents much to us and meeting what it offers is just part of the joy of life. Well done and congratulations. I'm waiting to see where the next one will go.

Angel Tears is one of those books that transports you into another world, a world where ordinary people face not-so-ordinary challenges in their lives. While there, you find yourself asking not only "could this really happen" but also "could something like this happen to me?" Radford weaves together elements of romance, of summer parties, of beaches that make this a perfect warm-weather (or wishing for warmer weather) read. The careful descriptions of the epic party at Tabor's beachfront house.

Angel Tears is a snappy novel. The dialogue is pitch perfect at times; the situations are alternately hilarious and unsettling. The characters are quirky; the narrative voice is engaging. This is an innovative author.
